A special commission headed by retired Chief Justice Dilip Bhosale has invited affidavits by November 16, 2026, on alleged question paper leaks and answer key irregularities.
A special inquiry commission has been set up to examine complaints of alleged question paper leaks and irregularities in answer keys in several competitive examinations conducted by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC). The commission has also asked members of the public to put forward their views.
Tukaram Mundhe, member secretary of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission Examination Inquiry Commission, has appealed to those with something to say on these matters to come forward. Concerned individuals, candidates who sat the examinations, students and various organisations can submit their complaints and representations, along with an affidavit, by November 16, 2026.
The commission is headed by Dilip Bhosale, a retired Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court. The commission has been formed to bring transparency to the system of competitive examinations and to protect the interests of students.
The nine examinations whose cases the commission will examine in depth are: the Drug Inspector Examination Group B 2025, the Maharashtra Group B (Non-Gazetted) Services Combined Preliminary Examination 2025 and its Combined Main Examination 2025. The list also includes the Maharashtra Group C Services Combined Preliminary Examination 2025, the Maharashtra Group C Services Main Examination 2025, the Maharashtra Agriculture Services Main Examination 2024 and the Food and Drug Administration Services Main Examination 2023. The last two on the list are the Maharashtra Civil Engineering Services Main Examination 2025 and the Maharashtra Electrical Engineering Services Main Examination 2025.
Certain rules have been laid down for submitting representations. Students or individuals who wish to be heard must prepare their representation in Marathi or English only. A copy of a valid identity card must be attached. Self-attested copies of all relevant documents must also be enclosed. All these documents and affidavits are to be sent to the commission's official address.
The commission's office is in the Food and Drug Administration building, Room No. 201, second floor, BKC, Bandra (East), Mumbai - 51. A copy of the representation must also be sent to the email address complaints.inquirycomm.mpsc@maharashtra.gov.in.
Mr Mundhe said all representations, affidavits and accompanying documents received by the commission will be kept strictly confidential. The commission will scrutinise the representations closely. After that, whether any person is to be summoned before the commission as a witness will rest entirely with the inquiry commission.
The future of lakhs of students is tied to these examinations, and the whole state is now watching the matter closely.
