IGNOU invites applications for 14 technical posts from October 3

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has issued an official notification for recruitment to non-teaching posts. The drive will fill 14 technical posts, including Assistant Director, Technical Manager and Technical Assistant.

The recruitment covers newer technical areas such as the learning management system (LMS), networking, artificial intelligence (AI), animation, game design and VR/AR. According to the information on the IGNOU website, online applications will open on October 3, 2026, and can be submitted until midnight on November 2, 2026.

There are 2 vacancies for Assistant Director and 4 for Technical Manager, both at Level 10 of the 7th Pay Commission. Technical Assistant has 8 vacancies, at Level 8 of the 7th Pay Commission. The total number of vacancies is 14.

Most of the posts require a degree in computer science or information technology. Candidates must hold a B.E./B.Tech (CS/IT), M.Sc (CS/IT) or MCA degree from a recognised university, with at least 55 per cent marks.

Experience requirements differ by post. A Technical Assistant needs at least 3 years of experience in the relevant technical field, and a Technical Manager at least 5 years. An Assistant Director needs at least 10 years of experience in the relevant field, particularly in LMS and networking.

The upper age limit is also set by post: 48 years for Assistant Director, 42 for Technical Manager and 37 for Technical Assistant. Candidates from reserved categories will get age relaxation as per the rules.

Online applications open on October 3, 2026, and close at midnight on November 2, 2026. The last date for submitting a printout of the online application along with the required documents is November 12, 2026.
