Huge python rescued from construction site in Nagpur's Wanadongri

Workers at a construction site in the Wanadongri area of Nagpur were startled when they suddenly spotted a huge python on the site. The sight of the large snake unnerved the workers and nearby residents for a while. Fearing something untoward, the alarmed residents lost no time in informing snake rescuers.

As soon as they got word, snake rescuers Amit Uke and Akash Meshram rushed to the spot. The two carefully examined the construction site and, within a short while, safely located the huge python. They said it was a python species snake that needed to be shifted to a safe place without causing it any harm.

Catching the python was not easy. Amid scattered material and a cramped space at the construction site, the rescuers had to carry out the rescue operation with great caution. Akash Meshram put his own life at risk to safely bring the python under control. After considerable experience and care, the python was finally caught.

In the area, Akash Meshram is known as one of the young men who rush to help as a snake rescuer whenever needed. Locals say that whether it is day or late at night, whenever news comes of a snake at someone's home, a construction site or a deserted spot, Akash Meshram arrives to help, no matter how risky the situation.

The rescuers also told people present at the spot that on spotting a snake, instead of killing it or throwing stones at it, trained snake rescuers should be informed immediately. According to them, in most cases snakes enter populated areas not to attack humans but in search of a safe shelter.

After the rescue was completed, the python was safely taken and released into a natural forest. Once the python was safely released into the forest, the workers and residents present there breathed a sigh of relief.

Following the rescue in Wanadongri, local residents heaped praise on the work of Amit Uke and Akash Meshram. People said that while most people flee in fear the moment they see a snake, snake rescuers reach the spot without worrying about their own safety and save the snake's life.

Akash Meshram's continued readiness to help those in need, staying engaged in rescues even late into the night, is a particular talking point in the area. He says killing a snake is not the solution to any problem, that snakes too are an important part of the environment, and that saving them and releasing them into a safe natural habitat is the right approach.

In this Wanadongri incident too, the timely arrival of the snake rescuers eased the fear that had spread among people on one hand, and saved the life of a huge python on the other.
