The southwest monsoon has withdrawn from Maharashtra, but the effects of heat remain in the last week of October. On Sunday, October 25, humidity may add to people's discomfort in the Konkan region, which includes Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Navi Mumbai.
Pune, Nashik, Nagpur and many parts of Marathwada may see strong sunshine during the day, and temperatures may also rise. For exact temperature and rainfall conditions in a particular city, it is important to follow the latest forecast of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Mumbai and surrounding areas may see a mix of heat and humidity. Strong daytime sun and moisture in the air may make it feel hotter than the actual temperature. Similar conditions are likely in Thane, Palghar and Navi Mumbai. Mornings and late evenings may bring some relief, but those going out in the afternoon should take care.
In Pune, sunshine during the day may increase the heat. The afternoon is likely to feel warmer, while mornings and nights may remain relatively comfortable. Nashik may also see a difference between day and night temperatures. People are advised not to stay in the sun for long.
In Vidarbha, afternoon heat may cause discomfort in several cities, including Nagpur, Amravati and Akola. Daytime temperatures are likely to rise because of the strong sun. In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nanded and surrounding areas of Marathwada, the weather may also remain hot and dry. It would not be right to make any firm statement about rain or cloud cover for now.
In view of the change in weather, people should keep drinking plenty of water and avoid going out in strong sun unnecessarily. Those who work outdoors should rest at intervals. Farmers should take decisions on irrigation and crop care on the basis of local weather forecasts. It is important to keep track of official IMD updates for possible changes in rain, temperature and weather.
