Condé Nast Traveller has released its list of the best countries in the world for 2026, in the 29th edition of the magazine's rankings. India is among the countries featured.
The list was prepared on the basis of votes by travellers. According to the survey, thousands of travellers took part through an online voting website between April 1 and June 30, 2026. The survey had separate categories such as hotels, resorts, airlines, cities, islands and cruise lines. Ratings were given on a five-point scale: excellent, very good, good, fair and poor.
Greece has taken the top spot. Places such as Santorini, Mykonos, Crete, Paros, Hydra and Tinos draw large crowds of tourists. Athens, the capital, is not only a historic city but is also regarded as a creative hub of the country. Its art galleries and hotels make it one of the most beautiful places in Europe.
In the top 10, Japan is second and Italy third. Turkiye is fifth. Portugal is sixth and Costa Rica seventh, while Croatia and Indonesia share the eighth spot. Norway is ninth and Thailand is tenth.
India has secured the 17th position, placing it in the global top 20.
