If you crave something sweet after a meal, this recipe is for you. Making sweets usually means gathering a lot of ingredients, but this one is different. It needs few ingredients and is ready in a short time. You can make this delicious sweet with just one cup of rice.
Many people are used to having something sweet after meals, while some crave sweets late at night. This sweet can be a good option then. It needs neither mawa nor milk powder. Here are the ingredients first, followed by the method.
You will need one cup of rice, two tablespoons of desi ghee, a quarter cup of white sesame seeds, a quarter cup of dry grated coconut, half a cup of sugar and one cup of milk. Finely chopped cashews and pistachios are also needed for garnish.
First, take one cup of rice. Any rice will do. Wash the rice well in water two to three times. Drain all the water and spread the rice on a cloth so that the water drains out completely. Then dry the rice for ten to fifteen minutes under a fan or in the sun.
Now put two tablespoons of ghee in a pan. Add the rice and roast it on a low flame until it turns brown. When the rice is well roasted, add the white sesame seeds and roast lightly. Then add the dry grated coconut and roast everything again on a low flame.
When everything is well roasted and gives off a fragrance, switch off the gas and grind the whole mixture in a mixer.
Now place a pan on the gas and add half a cup of sugar and the milk. Once the sugar dissolves in the milk, add the ground rice mixture. Let it cook on a low flame, stirring continuously. When the mixture stops sticking to the pan, the sweet is ready.
If you like, add a little more ghee at the end. Then top with finely chopped cashews and pistachios and serve.
