Gold, silver slip slightly on October 12; 22-carat gold at Rs 1,38,790 per 10 grams

Gold and silver prices edged down on October 12. Buyers planning to purchase jewellery would do well to check the day's rates first. In India, 24-carat gold was at Rs 15,141 per gram, 22-carat gold at Rs 13,879 per gram and 18-carat gold at Rs 11,356 per gram.

Per 10 grams, 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,38,790 on October 12. Gold of 24 carats was at Rs 1,51,410 per 10 grams and 18-carat gold at Rs 1,13,560 per 10 grams. Silver was at Rs 239.90 per gram and Rs 2,39,900 per kg.

A day earlier, on October 11, 24-carat gold was at Rs 15,142 per gram, 22-carat gold at Rs 13,880 per gram and 18-carat gold at Rs 11,357 per gram in India. Per 10 grams, 22-carat gold stood at Rs 1,38,800, 24-carat gold at Rs 1,51,420 and 18-carat gold at Rs 1,13,570. Silver on October 11 was at Rs 240 per gram and Rs 2,40,000 per kg.

City-wise, in Mumbai 22-carat gold was at Rs 1,38,790 per 10 grams, 24-carat at Rs 1,51,410 and 18-carat at Rs 1,13,560. Pune, Kerala, Kolkata, Nagpur, Hyderabad and Bengaluru have the same three rates: Rs 1,38,790 for 22-carat, Rs 1,51,410 for 24-carat and Rs 1,13,560 for 18-carat.

In Chandigarh, 22-carat gold was at Rs 1,38,940 per 10 grams, 24-carat at Rs 1,51,560 and 18-carat at Rs 1,13,710. Delhi, Lucknow and Jaipur have the same rates.

In Chennai, 22-carat gold was at Rs 1,38,790 per 10 grams and 24-carat at Rs 1,51,410, while 18-carat was at Rs 1,13,990. In Surat, 22-carat gold was at Rs 1,38,840 per 10 grams, 24-carat at Rs 1,51,460 and 18-carat at Rs 1,13,610. In Nashik, 22-carat gold was at Rs 1,38,820 per 10 grams, 24-carat at Rs 1,51,440 and 18-carat at Rs 1,13,590.
