Ahead of the Ganesh immersion in Nagpur, city police carried out a special citywide drive called "Operation All Out" from late Wednesday night to early Thursday morning to maintain law and order and keep a check on anti-social elements.

The operation was carried out between 11 pm and 2 am across the jurisdiction of all police stations in Nagpur city on the orders and under the guidance of Police Commissioner Vishwas Nangare Patil. During the drive, different police teams conducted combing operations across the city, checking on the movements of accused released from jail, externed criminals, those named in various cases, accused released under the MPDA Act, those released under jail and MCOCA provisions, and people carrying illegal weapons.

Legal action was also taken during the drive against absconding and wanted accused, those who violated bail conditions, habitual offenders and history-sheeters.

During Operation All Out, Nagpur police registered a total of 10 cases under the NDPS Act. Action under the Gambling Act led to 27 cases being registered, with property worth Rs 4,76,100 seized. Action was also taken under the POCSO Act.

Police had already prepared a list of 84 accused ahead of the drive. Of these, 39 were questioned, and further action was taken against 19 of them.

During the special drive, police checked a total of 1,237 vehicles on the road, including 846 two-wheelers and 391 four-wheelers. Of these, action was taken against 14 drivers for drink and drive, while separate action was taken against another 106 drivers under the Motor Vehicles Act.

Nagpur police have appealed to citizens to cooperate with them in maintaining peace and security during the immersion festival and to immediately inform the police control room of any suspicious activity. The police administration has said such strict and prompt action against anti-social elements attempting to disturb peace or law and order during festivals will continue.
