The attack on actor Tiger Shroff on Sunday has caused a stir across the film industry and in political circles. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis condemned the incident in strong terms on Monday.

Speaking to the media in Nagpur, Fadnavis said the matter was extremely serious and condemnable. He made it clear that anyone trying to disturb law and order in the state would not be spared at any cost. According to him, Mumbai Police have taken the case up with full sensitivity and seriousness.

The Chief Minister said the police have firm leads about the attackers and the force is working on the basis of those leads. He said the attackers have been positively identified and will be put behind bars at the earliest.

Without naming the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Fadnavis warned it. He said that whatever the gang or criminal, none can escape the long arm of the law. If anyone wants to operate by issuing threats or creating an atmosphere of fear, Mumbai Police know very well how to teach them a lesson. He also said the masterminds behind this conspiracy would be exposed.

According to the Chief Minister, most of these people are not operating from within Maharashtra, because the police have already clamped down on those active here. They are hatching their plots from other states or from abroad.

In such cases, help from police in other states as well as the Central government is being taken, so that the ringleaders sitting abroad can also be brought within the reach of the law. Fadnavis said the attackers are cowards who strike from hiding, but their nefarious designs would be completely foiled.

Praising Mumbai Police, he said it is one of the most professional police forces in the country. He said the police have proved before that a criminal will be tracked down no matter which corner of the world he hides in. Every aspect of the case is being examined and analysed in depth, and whatever stern steps are needed to deal with the situation will be taken.

Political sparring has also intensified after the attack. When opposition parties targeted the government over law and order, Fadnavis hit back sharply. He said the opposition parties were merely playing politics and should first look within.

He targeted the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi government led by Uddhav Thackeray. Recalling issues such as the Mansukh Hiren murder case, corruption in transfers and postings, and the security of industrialists, he said everyone knew the state of law and order during that government's tenure.
