Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited the Shri Mahalakshmi Jagdamba temple at Koradi on Monday afternoon on the occasion of the Navaratri festival. He offered prayers to the goddess and performed puja according to ritual to seek her blessings.

During the darshan, Fadnavis prayed at the goddess's feet for farmers. Given the drought in Maharashtra, the state government is said to be fully prepared to deal with the crisis. The Chief Minister prayed that farmers, too, may find the strength to fight this difficult situation.

In a message, Fadnavis wrote that he visited the Shri Mahalakshmi Jagdamba Sansthan at Koradi in Nagpur, had darshan of the goddess with devotion, performed aarti and received her blessings. He said he also prayed to the goddess for the happiness, prosperity and good health of all.

On reaching the temple, he extended Navaratri greetings to the devotees present. The temple management also felicitated the Chief Minister.

Revenue Minister and Nagpur district Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Minister of State for Home Pankaj Bhoyar, MLA Parinay Fuke and MLA Rajiv Potdar were among the dignitaries present.

The Navaratri festival has begun at Koradi this year as well. On the second day of the festival, thousands of devotees are arriving at the temple for darshan of the self-manifested idol of Goddess Shri Mahalakshmi Jagdamba. Queues had formed from midnight, and chants of "Jai Mata Di" echoed across the temple premises.

Large numbers of devotees are coming to Koradi from Vidarbha as well as from other parts of Maharashtra and from other states. The festival has created an atmosphere of devotion, faith and religious fervour across the area.

The Sansthan has organised several religious programmes for Ashwin Navaratri. Yajna, japa and havan are being performed in worship of the goddess, and Vedic chanting has created a spiritual atmosphere in the temple premises. Recitation of the Durga Saptashati will continue throughout the festival.

Various pujas and religious programmes will continue in the coming days, and heavy crowds of devotees are expected at the temple.
