Nagpur: Man, 30, booked for raping 15-year-old girl he met at a fair
Police in Nagpur have registered a POCSO and rape case against a 30-year-old man after the minor was found to be pregnant.
Nagpur: A casual acquaintance made with a stranger at a fair has upended the life of a 15-year-old schoolgirl. She met Sunil Jangde, 30, at a fair held on the Sakkardara police station premises.
Jangde then took the girl to another fair on the premises, where he allegedly had sexual relations with her. He later took her to Ahmedabad in Gujarat and told her he would marry her. After an alleged marriage, he again allegedly had sexual relations with the minor.
After a dispute between the two there, the girl returned to Nagpur. On reaching home she began complaining of stomach pain. When her family took her to a hospital, it emerged that she was pregnant.
A complaint was filed at Sakkardara police station on this basis. Police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and for rape, and have begun an investigation.
