Digital classes built with MLA Rajan Naik's local area development fund in 41 Zilla Parishad schools in the Nalasopara constituency were inaugurated on Thursday.

Children studying in 41 Zilla Parishad schools in the Nalasopara Assembly constituency will now be able to learn digitally through new technology. Digital classrooms have been set up in these schools, and the initiative was inaugurated on Thursday.

The work was carried out with the MLA fund of BJP legislator Rajan Naik. The National Education Policy 2020, which was brought by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stresses quality education through technology. With this in mind, Naik took the initiative to make 41 Zilla Parishad schools in the Nalasopara area digital.

The aim of the digital classrooms is to familiarise children with digital technology at school age and to let teachers teach more effectively with the help of new technology. The initiative will give children from ordinary families studying in Zilla Parishad schools opportunities for modern education.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Rajan Naik said digital education is the need of the hour. He said he is making continuous efforts to have the Zilla Parishad schools brought under the municipal corporation. Until that happens, his efforts will continue to ensure that children in these schools get basic facilities and good education, he said.

Naik also said that the Centre is running initiatives such as e-Vidya, One Class One Channel, digital labs and a digital university to shape India's future. He expressed confidence that digital education would open a path of progress for children.

Supermind, an organisation from Pune, has been given responsibility for maintaining the digital boards and other equipment for three years, also from the MLA fund. BJP general secretary Manoj Barot said the organisation will guide children and teachers if any technical problem arises. He added that all cluster heads (kendra pramukh), headmistresses and teachers have been given the necessary instructions in this regard.

Those present at the event included Ajay Dalvi of the District Planning Department, Supermind director Ashwini Bhalekar, Sameer Salunke, project head Shantanu Pawar and Ashish Patil. Cluster heads, headmistresses and teachers also attended. Ruchita Suryawanshi, a teacher at Nehru Vidyalaya, also spoke on the importance of digital education.
