Delhi HR professional's murder solved after 5 days, ex-colleague and partner held
A 31-year-old HR professional who left home for wedding shopping was allegedly killed by a former colleague over a money dispute, Delhi Police say.
A shocking case has emerged from Delhi, where a 31-year-old HR professional was allegedly murdered after leaving home for wedding shopping. The deceased has been identified as Yuvraj Singh Manchanda. According to police, the murder may have been the result of a financial dispute.
Police said Yuvraj had gone to Central Market in Lajpat Nagar, Delhi, with his sister for wedding shopping on September 6. Before leaving, he told his sister he had a meeting in Gurugram and would be back home by 10 pm. However, he did not return by 10 pm and his phone was switched off, prompting his family to start searching for him. He remained untraced for five days, after which the family filed a police complaint.
During the investigation, police examined the call detail records (CDR) of Yuvraj's phone, which showed he had been in contact with his former office colleague, Anya Vats. Police tried to reach Anya but could not contact her, after which the investigation turned toward her. Police claim that during questioning, Anya and her partner Sanyam Sachdeva confessed to being involved in Yuvraj's murder.
According to police, Yuvraj and the accused had an ongoing dispute over a financial transaction, following which he was killed. After the murder, the body was kept in a Creta car for a few hours before being dumped in a drain in the Sector 70 area of Gurugram. The accused then fled to Uttarakhand. Delhi Police have arrested both accused from Uttarakhand.
Further investigation into the case is ongoing. Police are gathering more information on the exact motive and sequence of events to establish what happened in Gurugram that day and the circumstances in which Yuvraj was killed.
