Ajni police reach spot in 3 minutes after Dial-112 call, arrest knife attacker in Nagpur
Ajni police reached Sant Kabir Nagar within three minutes of a Dial-112 alert on October 5 night, saved a man from a knife attack and arrested the accused.
Nagpur: Ajni police saved a young man's life by reaching the spot within three minutes of receiving information on Dial-112 at the police control room. The attacker has been arrested.
The incident took place in Sant Kabir Nagar, under the Ajni police station limits. At 11.15 pm on October 5, the police control room was informed that a man was being attacked with a knife in Sant Kabir Nagar. Ajni police left for the spot immediately and reached it in three minutes. They rescued the complainant, Mukul Dhapode, safely.
Mukul told the police that the accused, Shahbaz Azeem Khan, who lives in the neighbourhood, was demanding his mobile phone and cash at knifepoint. When Mukul resisted, Shahbaz attacked him with the knife. Mukul somehow escaped the blow, but the seat cover of his vehicle was torn during the attack. After getting away, he informed the police about the incident.
The beat marshal of Ajni police, who reached the spot, searched the area and arrested Shahbaz Khan. Preventive action has been taken against Shahbaz earlier as well. He is addicted to drugs.
