Dalmia Cement workers to get 10% bonus before Diwali after union talks with management
Management at Dalmia Cement in Korpana has agreed to a 10 per cent bonus, to be paid before Diwali, after repeated meetings with the workers' union.
The dispute over the bonus for employees of Dalmia Cement in Korpana has finally been resolved. After sustained efforts by the Dalmia branch of the Naranda Cement Kamgar Sangh, its leadership and several meetings with management, it has been agreed that employees will get a 10 per cent bonus. Management has also assured that the bonus amount will be paid before Diwali. The outcome is being seen as a major success for the union in the interest of employees.
The union's main demand was that the bonus, currently 8.33 per cent, be raised to 20 per cent. The aim was that employees' hard work, dedication and contribution to the company's growth be properly recognised and that they receive greater financial benefit. The union pursued the matter continuously. Several important meetings were held with management and the issue was discussed in detail. Considering the union's positive approach, management finally agreed to a 10 per cent bonus.
Union president Khushal Bhau Bonde, vice-president Nathu Patil Bobde and secretary Sainath Sontakke played an active role in this success, along with Pravin Hekad, Datta Kolhe, Pramod Ulmale, Hanumant Kusle, Sameer Vandhare, Devendra Sherki, Rahul Kelurkar, Ankush Vandare, Sunil Paypare and Sainath Akulwar. Other office-bearers and members also supported the effort. Together, they put employees' interest first and firmly raised the bonus issue before management.
Full credit for the success has been given to union president Khushal Bhau Bonde. Office-bearers said the result was achieved only because of his guidance, blessings, able leadership and constant support. On behalf of all the union's office-bearers and employees, heartfelt gratitude was expressed to Bonde. The union also said the success was the result of the organisation's unity, strong leadership, the collective effort of all and its commitment to workers' interests.
