Dalmia Cement management and the workers' union agreed on a 10 per cent bonus, to be paid before Diwali, after several rounds of talks.

Gondpipri: The bonus dispute involving employees of Dalmia Cement has finally been resolved. After several rounds of talks between the company management and the Dalmia Cement Mazdoor Sangh, agreement was reached to give employees a 10 per cent bonus.

The management has also assured that the bonus amount will be paid before Diwali. The outcome is being seen as a major success for the union in the interest of the employees.

The union's demand from the start was that the bonus employees currently receive, 8.33 per cent, be raised to 20 per cent. The thinking behind the demand was that the employees' hard work, dedication and contribution to the company's growth should be properly recognised, and that they should also get greater financial benefit.

The union pursued the matter continuously. Several important meetings were held with the management and every point was discussed in detail. In view of the union's persistent efforts and positive approach, the management finally agreed to give a 10 per cent bonus.

Union working president R. Shankardas, general secretary Prakash Mohurle, Shrikant Lande, Ramdas Pusam and Lilu Jumnake, along with the other office-bearers and members, played an active role in this success. Together they put the employees' interest first and raised the bonus issue strongly before the management.

Full credit for the success has been given to the union president and former MLA Subhash Dhote. Union office-bearers said the success was possible only because of his invaluable guidance, blessings, able leadership and constant support. Under his guidance, the union worked together and secured this important decision in the employees' interest.

On the occasion, all union office-bearers and employees expressed heartfelt gratitude to Subhash Dhote. The union also said the success is the result of the organisation's unity, effective leadership, the collective effort of all and its commitment to workers' interests.
