The Central Reserve Police Force has announced 521 Head Constable and Constable vacancies for sportspersons across 22 disciplines, with online applications open until November 11, 2026.

Young men and women who have worked hard on the sports field now have a chance to serve the nation. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), which functions under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has announced recruitment under the Sports Quota 2026. A total of 521 posts will be filled with eligible sportspersons. Both men and women who have won medals in sports competitions or made their mark through good performance can apply.

The recruitment covers 22 sports. Of the 521 posts, 182 are for Head Constable (General Duty) and 339 for Constable (General Duty). The sports include athletics, boxing, judo, shooting, wrestling, water sports, weightlifting and yogasana.

The online application process has begun. The last date is November 11, 2026, and applications can be submitted until 11:59 pm. A correction window will open from November 12 to November 14 for fixing any errors made while filling in the form.

For the Head Constable (HC/GD) post, the candidate must have passed Class 12 from any recognised board. For the Constable (CT/GD) post, passing Class 10 is sufficient. The age must be 18 to 23 years, calculated as on August 1, 2026. As per government rules, a relaxation of 3 years in the age limit is given to the OBC category and 5 years to the SC and ST categories.

The applicant must hold a valid sports achievement from the period September 30, 2024 to September 30, 2026. For the Head Constable post, the candidate should have represented the country at the international level, won a medal at a national sports competition, or secured a top position in an inter-university tournament. For the Constable post, participation in a state-level or junior national tournament, or any medal, will suffice.

Selection will begin with scrutiny of documents. A merit list will then be prepared by awarding marks on the basis of sports achievement. This will be followed by a Physical Standard Test, in which general-category male candidates must be 170 cm tall and women 157 cm. Those who pass will take a sports trial, which is only qualifying in nature, meaning that passing it is enough. Finally, there will be a medical examination, in which vision without spectacles (6/6) will be checked. Candidates with colour blindness will be rejected.

On pay, a Head Constable will receive the pay scale of Rs 25,500 to Rs 81,100 under Level 4, and a Constable Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100 under Level 3. Benefits and allowances such as dearness allowance and government accommodation will also be given.

The application is entirely online and must be made on the CRPF's official recruitment website, rect.crpf.gov.in. Male candidates in the General, OBC and EWS categories must pay a fee of Rs 100 online. The application is free for women and for SC and ST candidates. Candidates are advised to upload all sports certificates, a recent photograph and a signature carefully so that the application is not rejected later.
