Of the 521 posts, 182 are for head constable and 339 for constable. Of the head constable posts, 150 are for male candidates and 32 for female candidates. The pay for the post is fixed at Pay Matrix Level 4, Rs 25,500 to Rs 81,100.
For constable, 258 posts are for male candidates and 81 for female candidates. The post carries pay under Pay Matrix Level 3, Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100.
On eligibility, ordinary residents of India, men and women, can apply. The recruitment is not for general candidates but for accomplished sportspersons. According to the notification, only those who have been medal winners, position holders or participants in national or international championships in the relevant advertised sports will be eligible.
The date of the sporting achievement or sports certificate also matters. Only an achievement or certificate from within the two years before the date the recruitment advertisement is published will be valid.
The merit list will be drawn up on the basis of the sports certificate for the relevant sport or the total marks obtained. If two candidates have equal marks, the older candidate will be given preference.
Once applications open, candidates must visit the CRPF website, rect.crpf.gov.in, fill in the information sought in the form and upload the required documents. They must check all the details carefully before submitting the form, then submit the application and keep the confirmation page safe.
The CRPF has advised candidates to read the recruitment notification before applying. Queries about the recruitment can be directed to the CRPF helpline number 01-126160255.
