A woman has been accused of attacking her husband with a knife in the Mukundwadi area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The husband suffered injuries to the wrist and the finger next to the thumb of his right hand. The incident took place in Mukundwadi's Sangharshnagar between about 8 am and 8.30 am on October 31.
The accused has been named as Vidya Shailendra Pagare, who lives in Lane No. 15 in Mukundwadi. A case has been registered against her at Mukundwadi police station. No arrest has been mentioned.
The complaint was filed by Shailendra Pralhad Pagare, 49, a resident of Sanjaynagar in Mukundwadi. According to the complaint, he currently lives in Sangharshnagar. His first wife has died, and he has a son and a daughter from that marriage.
The complainant says he married Vidya Mokale as his second wife three months ago. The household ran smoothly for the first 15 days. After that, he says, his wife began doubting his character, and the couple started quarrelling repeatedly over it.
The complaint states that Shailendra was not at home on October 30. In that time, his wife abused his brother, sister-in-law and their two children. When he returned, she quarrelled with him too. Fed up with the daily quarrels, he moved to the old house in Sanjaynagar.
The next day, October 31, between 8 am and 8.30 am, he came to the Sangharshnagar house to bathe. According to the complaint, his wife asked where he had been the previous night and again voiced suspicion about his character. She then began abusing him and assaulted him.
As Shailendra tried to calm her down, the wife allegedly struck at his right wrist and the finger near the thumb with a knife she was holding, injuring his hand. In the complaint he has also said that his wife's behaviour endangers his life and his children's lives.
A case has been registered at Mukundwadi police station. Constable Sushil Ratnaparkhe is conducting further investigation.
