The Election Commission of India has given eligible Chandrapur voters left out of the draft roll another chance to get their names into the final list.

Eligible voters in Chandrapur district whose names did not make it into the draft electoral roll have been given another chance to get their names added to the final electoral roll. The opportunity has been provided by the Election Commission of India. District Collector and District Election Officer Vasumana Pant has appealed to such voters to use it by submitting the required enumeration form and request.

During the Special Intensive Revision, some voters were recorded as absent, shifted, dead or duplicate. For this reason, their names could not be included in the draft roll. The Commission's decision is meant for such eligible voters.

Under the Commission's directive of November 6, a polling-station-wise list will be published again of voters who were given enumeration forms during the revision but whose names could not make it into the draft roll for various reasons.

The list will be put up on the notice boards of the polling stations concerned. It will also be kept for viewing at gram panchayat offices, offices of urban local self-government bodies and offices of the electoral officers concerned. The list will also be uploaded on the Chief Electoral Officer's website.

Voters whose names are not in the draft roll must submit a filled and signed enumeration form to the Electoral Registration Officer, the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer or the booth-level officer.

Voters who are still living at their earlier address must also submit, along with the enumeration form, a request in Annexure-B. The request must state why they had not submitted the enumeration form earlier. Booth-level officers will contact such voters themselves, give them the necessary guidance and also provide the enumeration form.

The applications received will be scrutinised and verified as per the rules. Action to add the names of voters found eligible to the final electoral roll will follow.

Pant has said that, to ensure no eligible voter is deprived of the right to vote, every voter should check whether their name is in the draft electoral roll. If it is not, they should submit the enumeration form in the prescribed manner with the required documents. She has appealed to all eligible voters concerned in the district to take advantage of this opportunity given by the Commission.
