A dispute over electricity in the Ramnagar police station area of Chandrapur took a dangerous turn. On the afternoon of October 4, 2026, a young man was attacked with an axe in Veer Savarkar Nagar. Sameer Khan, 31, was seriously injured in the attack. He is currently being treated at a government hospital in Nagpur. Ramnagar police have registered a case against the accused and the investigation is continuing.

According to police sources, the incident took place around noon on October 4, 2026 in Veer Savarkar Nagar. The injured Sameer Khan works as an electrician on daily wages. It is said that earlier that day Sameer had an argument over some electricity matter with the mother of Manish Jumnake, who lives in the same lane.

Police sources said Manish Jumnake, harbouring anger over this argument, brought an axe from his house and struck Sameer hard on the head. The allegation is that Sameer suffered a serious head injury in the murderous attack and fell down covered in blood.

After the incident, neighbours and relatives rushed to the spot and took the injured Sameer to a government hospital in Chandrapur. His sister, Shabnam Pathan, also reached the hospital on hearing the news. Doctors gave initial treatment, but Sameer's condition was critical and the head injury was serious. It was therefore decided to refer him by ambulance to a government hospital in Nagpur for further treatment.

Shabnam Pathan gave an oral complaint at Ramnagar police station. On that basis, police have registered crime number 1159/2026 against the accused, Manish Jumnake, under Section 109(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023. The further investigation is being carried out by Ramnagar police station under the guidance of Police Inspector Nilesh Bhimrao Waghmare.

The daylight incident created a brief atmosphere of fear and tension in the area.
