Nagpur police arrest habitual offender with knife at Kalmana, solve e-rickshaw theft
Police caught Omprakash alias Dhoku Suresh Nishad with a knife at Kalmana railway station and recovered a stolen e-rickshaw.
Police in Nagpur have arrested a criminal who was found roaming with a knife in Kalmana. The accused has been identified as Omprakash alias Dhoku Suresh Nishad. A knife was recovered from him. Omprakash is a habitual offender.
On the night of September 18, Yogesh Masurkar was driving his e-rickshaw to Bharatwada. He parked it by the roadside near Chikhli Gate to relieve himself. In the meantime, an unidentified thief made off with the e-rickshaw.
On October 3, Omprakash was caught roaming with a knife on the Kalmana railway station premises. A police team reached the spot and detained Omprakash alias Dhoku Nishad. A knife was recovered from him.
During interrogation, he confessed to stealing the e-rickshaw. He used the e-rickshaw to transport stolen goods. After disposing of the stolen goods at night, he would hide the e-rickshaw in different places. Police recovered the e-rickshaw from him, solving the theft case.
