The Central Board of Secondary Education announced the schedule on November 6, with both Class 10 and Class 12 examinations starting on February 16, 2027.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the date sheet for the 2027 Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. Lakhs of students now know how much time they have left to prepare. The board announced the schedule on November 6. Examinations for both classes will begin on February 16, 2027.

All examinations will start at 10:30 am, and students can plan their revision and study schedules accordingly.

Class 10 will have examinations in 83 subjects and Class 12 in 121 subjects. Class 10 examinations will run from February 16 to March 9, 2027. Class 12 examinations will be held from February 16 to April 9, 2027.

CBSE said considerable effort went into preparing the timetable. The board examined more than 40,000 subject combinations so that the papers of the subjects students have chosen do not clash.

Several factors were considered while drawing up the schedule. A reasonable gap has been kept between examinations in subjects that are commonly chosen together. For Class 12 students, the likely dates of major entrance examinations were also taken into account. The number of students who will sit at examination centres on a given day was also calculated. The timetable has been arranged so that teachers are not absent from schools for long periods. Another aim was to give students full preparation time between important papers.

To download the date sheet, students should visit the CBSE's official website, cbse.gov.in. They should open the Latest @ CBSE section and find the notification titled CBSE Board Examination Date Sheet 2027. They should then select the timetable for Class 10 or Class 12, as applicable, and download and save the PDF.

With the schedule now out, students should prepare a revision plan for each subject, keeping in mind the gaps between papers. Class 12 students should also factor in the likely dates of competitive entrance examinations while planning their preparation.

Students have been advised not to rely only on general examination schedules. They should download the official timetable and check for themselves the date of each subject, the paper timing and the examination instructions.
