Lakhs of students preparing for the CBSE board examinations 2027, and their parents, are waiting for the timetable. The Central Board of Secondary Education is set to release the subject-wise timetables for Classes 10 and 12 shortly on its official website, cbse.gov.in.
Going by past years' trends, the board has been releasing the exam schedule by the start of October or November every year. At present, the process of submitting the List of Candidates (LOC) is in its final stage. After this, the board will upload the Class 10 and 12 date sheets as a PDF on cbse.gov.in. Students have been advised not to trust fake timetables going viral on social media and to follow only the official website.
As per the CBSE pattern, the main theory examinations for Classes 10 and 12 are likely to begin in mid-February 2027. They will continue until March-April 2027.
As for practical examinations, in winter-bound schools they are held in November-December 2026 itself. In all other affiliated schools across the country, practical examinations will begin on January 1, 2027.
Once the date sheet is released, students can follow these steps to download the timetable. First, go to the CBSE official website, cbse.gov.in. Then click on the 'Main Website' or 'Latest Updates/Examination' section on the homepage. Next, click on the 'CBSE Class 10th & 12th Date Sheet 2027 PDF' link. The subject-wise date sheet for your class will open on the screen as a PDF. Download it, and take a printout and keep it safely.
Once the PDF is available, a few things should be checked carefully. Note the three-digit subject code along with the subject name, such as Mathematics-041/241 and Science-086. Also watch the paper timings. CBSE theory examinations begin at 10:30 am, and 15 minutes are given at the examination centre to read the question paper beforehand.
Count the holidays too. Estimate how many days are available for revision between difficult and important subjects, and redraw your study schedule immediately. Also read carefully the important instructions given at the bottom of the PDF, namely the dress code, the rules on admit cards, and the list of permitted and prohibited items at the examination centre.
