BSA Gold Star 650 gets two special editions in India, priced from Rs 3.56 lakh

Classic Legends has launched two new special editions of the BSA Gold Star 650 in India, for buyers who like retro looks and classic British styling. They are the Birmingham Blue Edition and the Brooklands Black Legacy Edition.

The Birmingham Blue Edition is priced at Rs 3.56 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, while the Brooklands Black Legacy Edition costs Rs 3.65 lakh. Both editions come with special colours and premium design detailing.

The Birmingham Blue Edition has a deep blue colour, which pays tribute to the city of Birmingham, linked to the company's British heritage. It gets a special silver side-panel badge and a different engine finish. The engine and cycle parts are the same as on the standard model, so the real change is in the look and finish.

The Brooklands Black Legacy Edition has a deep black colour with gold pinstriping, chrome-finish fenders and chrome detailing on the tank. A quilted seat gives the bike a premium, old-fashioned motorcycle look. Brooklands is a British racing circuit linked to BSA's history. The Gold Star name became famous after rider Wal Handley's record success in 1937.

Both special editions have a 652cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 45 bhp of power and 55 Nm of torque. Brembo brakes, dual-channel ABS and wire-spoke wheels have been retained. The bike's retro roadster character and riding setup are therefore unchanged.

The standard BSA Gold Star 650 is priced between Rs 3.10 lakh and Rs 3.45 lakh, so the new special editions are costlier. The standard model is available in six colours: Highland Green, Insignia Red, Shadow Black, Midnight Black, Dawn Silver and Legacy Sheen Silver.

In the Indian market, the bike competes with the Royal Enfield Classic 650. The new editions may attract motorcycle enthusiasts looking for special colours with classic styling.
