The Chandrapur district unit of the Republican Party of India (RPI) held a one-day district-level training camp for party workers on September 27, 2026. The camp took place at Bright Convent School in the Chorkhidki area of Chandrapur.

The camp began with a puja of the portrait of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, architect of the Indian Constitution and founder of the RPI. Bajirao Undirwade, former district president of the party and vice-president of its Nagpur region, inaugurated the camp.

Present at the inauguration were Siddharth Suman, trainer and general secretary of the Nagpur region; Prof Ravindranath Patil, general secretary of the Chandrapur district unit; district treasurer Gurudas Ramteke; Santoshbhai Ramteke; and other office-bearers.

Ashokkumar Umre, secretary of the party's Maharashtra state unit, Ramesh Patil (Gadchandur), district organiser, and Ajay Chavan, president of the Ballarpur taluka unit, also took part. Senior workers who participated included G. S. Kamble Guruji, Mukesh Meshram, Janardan Waghmare, Jivan Dange, Devidas Durge, Rajendra Bhagat, Marotrao Raipure, Suresh Phulzele, Hansraj Takasande (Uparwahi), Ashwin Dubey, Santosh Dhote and Ajay Patil.

At the concluding session, Umre stressed training for the Samata Sainik Dal. He said the Dal had been known since Babasaheb's time as the frontline force of political parties, and that its members needed to be trained along with Republican workers. He added that time should be set aside for training the Dal as well.

Undirwade said such camps were necessary to give momentum to the Republican party and to remove apathy.

Suman, the trainer for the workshop, kept the trainees engaged in a cordial atmosphere and gave useful training for six hours, from 11 am to 5 pm.

Prof Patil made considerable efforts to organise the camp, and those efforts bore fruit. He also conducted the proceedings and proposed the vote of thanks.

All participants agreed that such training camps should be held in the 15 talukas of Chandrapur district to build a cadre of trained workers and to energise the Republican movement.
