Nagpur: An event was held at Gotirth, the cow science research centre in Devlapar, to mark the start of Ashok Singhal's birth centenary year. At the event, Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat dedicated five key projects to the public. Two new projects were also announced on the occasion.

The projects dedicated include an organic manure unit. An IVF unit has also been started to promote indigenous cattle breeds. A bullock-driven power generation unit and the Rani Durgavati Gramin Haat are also among the projects dedicated. Some other initiatives are also part of the package.

Among the new projects, the setting up of a Panchagavya Cancer Wellness Centre and a Govidyapeeth has been announced.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Bhagwat said the resolve taken by Ashok Singhal and Moropant Pingle is being realised today. He said cow service should not be confined to a religious activity alone. He stressed that it should be linked to farming, energy and the village economy.

Minister of State Ashish Jaiswal also spoke at the event. He announced that Devlapar will be developed as a cow tourism centre. He also said an effort will be made to link women's self-help groups to fodder production.
