Bageshwar Dham leaflet wrongly predicted a son, family had fourth daughter instead
A Jhansi father was counselled by an anti-superstition group after a Bageshwar Dham leaflet's prediction of a son proved wrong for the fourth time
A family in Jhansi had a fourth daughter, even though a leaflet from Bageshwar Dham had claimed the family had a "son yog". After the incident, the Akhil Bharatiya Andhshraddha Nirmoolan Samiti (ANiS) came forward and counselled the distressed father.
According to information given to ANiS, the man had gone to Bageshwar Dham to get his wife's alleged evil spirit trouble removed. The leaflet he was given there reportedly stated a "son yog". Reading this leaflet had convinced him that the next child would definitely be a boy.
Despite the leaflet from Bageshwar Dham's Dhirendra Krishna Shastri stating a "son yog", when the fourth child turned out to be a daughter, the father was stunned. He also went to Bageshwar Dham's court to raise the matter and seek answers, but was told there that the shortfall must have been on his part, in devotion or in following the rules.
Initially the father was extremely angry, but he later realised that this whole matter and his anger had nothing to do with the innocent child. He then contacted ANiS, where officials of the committee sat with him and counselled him.
During this conversation, the father himself admitted that being angry at his newborn daughter out of a desire for a son was completely wrong. He said his daughter is very dear to him and that he will make every possible effort to give her a good education, the right values and a happy life. The child is currently about four months old. An audio clip of the conversation between the father and ANiS officials is also going viral.
The father has appealed to people, through ANiS, not to blindly trust any claim of divine power or prophecy, but to use their own judgement. He said he is sharing his account publicly so that the deception he faced does not happen to anyone else.
The Andhshraddha Nirmoolan Samiti welcomed the parents' decision, congratulated them and wished the child well. The committee said every child has an equal right to love, education and respect.
