Avinash Narkar's tearful video turns out to be promotion for his film Janak

An emotional video shared on social media by veteran actor Avinash Narkar has been much talked about in recent days. The video caused considerable stir among his fans. It opens with tears in Narkar's eyes as he says, "Namaskar, I am Joshi Master... My daughter is expecting, so I set out for Pune with great enthusiasm, but because of a small video of the journey, the respect I had earned over the years has truly been reduced to dust." He said all this while crying. The video appeared to raise concern among netizens.

Within moments, however, Narkar revealed the real story behind it, surprising his fans. Still in tears, he came on screen laughing and explained himself. It was not an actual experience of his, but a performance of a character from an upcoming film.

He said, "That was the reel, now let me tell you the real part... Not everything you see in a social media reel is real." He then announced his new film. Based on a true incident, the film, Janak, will release across Maharashtra on November 13. He had adopted this unusual, attention-grabbing approach to promote the film.

The teaser of the film was launched recently. Actors Sayali Sanjeev, Suresh Vishwakarma, Anushka Pimputkar and Vinita Kale will play key roles in Janak. Narkar, who always appears active and spirited in social media reels, has now seen this emotional video go widely viral. It has generated considerable curiosity among audiences about Janak.

The teaser shows allegations against a father, a daughter fighting for his honour, and a legal battle in search of the truth. This has added to the curiosity about the film. Whether justice will prevail or a father's self-respect will be lost under the shadow of the allegations will be known only after watching the film.

The film is directed by Abhishek Kanwar. Presented by RTB Films, the courtroom thriller Janak will release across Maharashtra on November 13, 2026.
