Bharti Airtel, one of India's largest telecom companies, has announced free international roaming for its customers. The company said officially that the facility came into effect on October 8, 2026.

According to the company, customers on this international roaming plan can get free roaming every year while travelling abroad, which could make travel easier for those going overseas.

The facility is the latest addition to Airtel Postpaid plans. These plans already offer Fast Lane technology, which gives users a better experience, unlimited data and network-level protection against spam and fraud links.

Through the Airtel Postpaid Advantage Club, customers can also access a range of entertainment subscriptions and exclusive experiences, including comedy shows, film premieres and concerts.

Announcing the launch, Amit Tripathi, Director, Market Operations, Bharti Airtel, said that for the company, postpaid means giving customers a best-in-class experience in the Indian market. He said the company offers the country's best network experience.

According to Tripathi, postpaid customers get the benefit of Fast Lane technology on 5G and continuous protection from spam and fraud. He said the company also gives customers the best value by offering entertainment and services useful in everyday life. He said that, in this line, the company has now decided to start free international roaming for customers. He added that the company is committed to continually improving service quality and giving customers more reasons to choose Airtel Postpaid.

The facility is available to all customers who choose Airtel Postpaid, and it has been live since October 8, 2026.

Existing Airtel customers, whether on older postpaid plans or on prepaid, can upgrade to this plan through the Airtel app or at a nearby Airtel store. People who are not yet Airtel customers can also request a switch to Airtel Postpaid through the app or a store.
