Savitribai Phule Pune University has moved all papers scheduled for Saturday, October 31, in Pune, Ahilyanagar and Nashik districts to November 11.
Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has postponed all its examinations scheduled for Saturday, October 31. Students who were preparing for that day's papers will now have to redo their plans. The university has shifted the entire day's exam schedule to November 11. The change applies to papers at affiliated colleges and examination centres in Pune, Ahilyanagar and Nashik districts.
The university's examination department issued a notice on Friday. The notice gives as the reason that the President is visiting Nashik and Trimbak, which could disrupt movement of traffic. The visit is linked to a flag-hoisting ceremony marking the start of preparations for the 2026-27 Simhastha Kumbh Mela.
Such a large event could affect traffic, especially in Nashik district. The university therefore decided that students should not have to risk delays on their way to examination centres.
All papers of October 31 have been withdrawn, irrespective of the course or the college. No particular course or college has been exempted. The affected papers will now be held on November 11, 2026.
The university has clarified that the postponed papers will be held at the same time as given in the earlier timetable. Students should therefore keep their current examination details safe and keep watching for fresh instructions issued by their respective colleges.
The concern over traffic relates to the President's programme in the Nashik-Trimbak area, but the change, made at short notice, affects students in all three districts. Students in Pune and Ahilyanagar also come under its purview.
Students have been advised to confirm the new date with their colleges and to watch for further notices from SPPU about the examinations.
