Hadapsar police in Pune have registered a case against a 26-year-old man. He is accused of travelling on a PMPML bus by showing a fake one-day pass. PMPML says it suffered a loss of Rs 70 because of this.
The accused is Nishant Rajpal Kolhe, a resident of Hadapsar. The complaint was filed by Sanjay Bhuguji Adalge, 56, a bus checker with Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML).
According to the complaint, the incident took place at about 4 pm on Friday, October 23. Kolhe boarded a PMPML bus (MH 12 XM 6958) at the stop near Survey No. 15. He was travelling on a one-day pass.
During the journey, conductor Akshay Jaybhai asked him about the pass. Kolhe told the conductor that he had got the pass from a mobile application. The conductor suspected that the pass had been generated from a fake app. He informed bus checker Sanjay Jadhav, who was at Gadital.
Kolhe and the bus were then taken to the Gadital depot. Officials there examined the pass and found it to be fake. The depot manager informed senior officials. Bus checker Adalge also examined the pass and confirmed this.
The complaint says Kolhe travelled on this fake pass without buying a valid ticket. As a result, PMPML suffered a loss of Rs 70. Hadapsar police are currently investigating the matter.
