A shocking incident took place during a wedding ceremony in Yeola town of Nashik district. The young man and woman had had a love marriage. Angered by this, relatives of the bride's family barged straight into the wedding pavilion and created a ruckus.

It is alleged that they poured a flammable substance such as diesel on the groom, his mother and other relatives present, and tried to burn them alive. The incident has spread panic in Yeola town and the surrounding area, and people are very angry.

Rishabh Deepak Bhagunde, who lives in Yeola town, was in a relationship with a young woman from Niphad taluka. Going against their families' wishes, the two had run away from home and had a court marriage in September.

Some time later, the boy's parents took a big decision. They decided that the couple would be married again with all rituals and celebrations. A ceremony was arranged for this at a mangal karyalay (wedding hall) in Yeola.

The ceremony was going on in a happy atmosphere when the woman's relatives and some anti-social elements suddenly entered the lawns. They began an argument and soon created a major commotion.

They began beating the groom, Rishabh Bhagunde, his mother and other relatives present badly. Even then they did not stop. The attackers allegedly poured a flammable substance such as diesel on everyone and made a terrible attempt to set them alight and burn them alive. The sudden attack caused uproar at the wedding and frightened the guests.

People present immediately informed Yeola city police station. On receiving the information, police reached the spot without delay and brought the situation under control. Police intervention in time averted a major loss of life.

Police have detained some of the bride's relatives who created the disturbance at the spot. The process of registering a case against them under serious sections was continuing late into the night.

Meanwhile, relatives and members of the public present are asking what reason others have to object and resort to violence when both the young man and woman are adults, not minors in the eyes of the law, and have legally married of their own free will. Regret is being expressed in the Yeola area that such a pure bond as love took such a violent turn.
