Nine months are about to be completed since the plane crash that killed the state's late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is investigating the crash. In connection with this, Ajit Pawar's son Jay Pawar met CID officials in Pune on Tuesday.
Jay Pawar spoke to the officials for about 5 to 10 minutes. The meeting was held in connection with the probe. During it, he demanded that the investigation into Ajitdada's plane crash be speeded up. He also said he would keep pursuing the matter until the truth about the crash came out. Jay Pawar described this as his firm resolve.
Jay Pawar, a youth leader of the Nationalist Congress Party, reached the CID office in Pune and met the officials concerned to take stock of the investigation into the crash. He asked them in detail about the current status of the probe, the action taken so far and the likely time needed to complete it. He also asked about the matters still pending in the investigation.
Jay Pawar stressed that the probe should be stepped up further and completed transparently and without delay.
Speaking on the matter, Jay Pawar said that bringing out the truth behind Ajitdada's plane crash is not a question for one family alone. It concerns the trust of lakhs of citizens who hold Dada in deep affection. According to him, the questions people have about the crash must be answered. Every important aspect of the investigation should be examined thoroughly and the truth should be placed before the public.
He therefore expressed the hope that there would be no laxity in the probe, that all related matters would be questioned seriously, and that necessary action would be taken to hold those found guilty accountable. MLA Vikram Kakade was with him during the meeting.
Jay Pawar said again at the end that the matter would not be dropped until the truth about Ajitdada's crash came out, and that he would keep pursuing it.
