Tiger Shroff car firing: Four accused, including two women, sent to police custody till October 26

A Mumbai court on Thursday remanded four accused in the firing on actor Tiger Shroff's car, two of them women, to police custody till October 26.

A Mumbai court on Thursday sent four accused in the case of firing on actor Tiger Shroff's car to police custody till October 26. Two of the four are women. The firing took place in Juhu, Mumbai.

The four were first taken into custody on October 20 by the Delhi Police Special Cell. They were then brought to Mumbai and produced on Thursday before the Esplanade Court in Mumbai.

The accused have been identified as Kunal Singh (21) and Sumit Sorolia (19), both from Sonipat district in Haryana. Radha Verma (23) is from Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh, and Babita Rao (23) is from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh.

The arrests were made by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police's Northern Range. The Maharashtra Police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) then formally arrested the four in the case.

Police say the accused had a role in delivering the weapon. According to police, Kunal allegedly collected a pistol and 20 rounds of ammunition from Amritsar at the behest of Anil Pandit. Sumit allegedly accompanied him.

Police further alleged that Kunal later persuaded Radha to carry the weapon to Mumbai. On October 15, he allegedly took Radha and Babita to New Delhi railway station. The pistol is alleged to have been hidden in Radha's bag.

According to police, after the firing on October 18, Anil allegedly told Kunal to arrange for the shooters to leave. The shooters were reportedly stranded in Mumbai at the time.

Radha and Babita then travelled by train from Mumbai to Delhi. They were caught at New Delhi railway station on October 20, while Kunal and Sumit were caught in Sonipat, Haryana.

During the hearing, a defence lawyer questioned the basis of the arrests and sought judicial custody instead of police custody. The lawyer argued that police had not been able to link the accused to the alleged supply of weapons and ammunition.

The lawyer also questioned whether there was sufficient evidence to establish the role of the two women. The lawyer said they were being implicated only on the basis of police suspicion, and that the call detail records and electronic evidence could be examined without further police custody.

Another defence lawyer, Advocate Ajinkya Mirgal, argued that the two women were not present at the site of the firing and do not need to be questioned further in custody. He urged the court to send them directly to judicial custody.
