Navi Mumbai Mayor Sujata Patil inaugurated the new NMMT bus service for residents of the 14 villages recently added to the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.

A new NMMT bus service has begun at Uttarshiv to give better bus travel facilities to people of the 14 villages recently added to the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC). The service, Route 38, links Ghansoli-Gharonda with Uttarshiv village via Mahape, so a direct bus is now available between the two places.

Navi Mumbai Mayor Sujata Patil inaugurated the service. It aims to give people of Dahisar village and surrounding areas direct and easy public transport connectivity, so that they do not have to look for separate means of travel.

The Uttarshiv area lies near the 14 villages and has seen industrial and educational development. Large numbers of people and students travel daily between this area, Navi Mumbai and Ghansoli-Gharonda. The direct bus is expected to make their daily commute easier and more convenient.

Route 38 is a general service, with three buses deployed on it. The full journey takes about 40 to 45 minutes. The bus will run all seven days of the week, with no day off, and the fare is Rs 21.

The bus will leave Ghansoli-Gharonda and reach Uttarshiv village via Ghansoli railway station, Rajendra Ashram, Terna College, MBP Mahape, Shilphata, Kalyan Phata-Gothegar and MHADA building 6A-B.

On timings, the first bus from Ghansoli-Gharonda will leave at 5:43 am and the last at 7:55 pm. From Uttarshiv village, the first bus will leave at 6:30 am and the last at 8:50 pm.

The NMMC transport undertaking has appealed to commuters and local residents to use the newly launched service. It expects the service to strengthen public transport connectivity and to offer more convenience to students, employees and daily commuters.
