Central Railway will take a traffic and power block for girder work on a new footbridge at Diva, while Western Railway plans a jumbo block between Borivali and Bhayandar.

Central Railway will take a special traffic block and a power block on the night between Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1. A new foot overbridge (FOB) is being built at the Kalyan end of Diva station, and girders for it will be launched during the block.

The work will be carried out with the help of a road crane. It will run from 1.10 am to 4.25 am on November 1 on the fifth and sixth lines between Mumbra and Dativali stations, which means those lines will be blocked during that time.

According to a press release issued by Central Railway on Friday, the block will affect the running of two express trains.

The first is the 11099 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT)-Madgaon Express. The train begins its journey on November 1. Its scheduled departure is 12.45 am, but because of the block it will now leave at 4 am.

The second is the 12134 Mangaluru-CSMT Express. It will be regulated at Nilje station from 3.34 am to 4.25 am.

Central Railway has appealed to passengers to take note of the changes and plan their travel accordingly.

Separately, Western Railway also said on Friday that it will take a jumbo block on the fast lines between Borivali and Bhayandar stations for maintenance work. The block will be on the night between Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1.

According to a statement by Chief Public Relations Officer Vineet Abhishek, the block on the up and down fast lines will run from 11.30 pm on October 31 to 4.30 am on November 1.

During the block, all trains on the fast line between Virar/Vasai Road and Borivali stations will be diverted onto the slow lines. Some suburban services in the up and down directions will also be cancelled. Western Railway said the list of cancelled services can be seen at the offices of all station masters in the suburban section.

Western Railway also clarified that there will be no block in the Mumbai suburban section during the day on Sunday, November 1.
