A new claim has emerged in the case of the firing on actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai's Juhu area on October 18. Citing police sources, it is being said that the accused linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang initially had actor Aamir Khan in their sights, it is suspected.
It is said the accused did not get a chance to reach Aamir Khan, and so they targeted Tiger Shroff.
According to information from the investigation, the accused conducted reconnaissance around Aamir Khan's house three times. It is said that Aamir Khan either keeps travelling out for film shoots or stays at home for long stretches. For this reason, the accused did not get a suitable opportunity to reach him.
The accused then turned their attention to Tiger Shroff, it is suspected. They learnt from social media that Tiger Shroff regularly goes to play football at Pushpa Narsi ground in Juhu. The investigating agencies suspect that a plot to open fire was then hatched after tracking his movements.
Aamir Khan reportedly received threats earlier this year. It had been suspected that the threats were made by people allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Police are investigating whether these threats have any connection with the firing on Tiger Shroff.
On October 18, two unidentified men reportedly fired shots near Tiger Shroff's vehicle in Juhu. The accused then fled the spot on a motorcycle. Tiger Shroff escaped unhurt, but his driver and a member of the public were injured, it is said. The Mumbai Police Crime Branch is investigating the case.
During the probe, earlier reports had also claimed that the accused visited places linked to Salman Khan and Ranveer Singh. Investigating agencies are trying to establish the purpose of these visits and whether there was any plan to target these actors.
For now, the investigation continues into the alleged conspiracy, the possible associates of the accused and the motive behind the firing. No final finding has yet been recorded in court on the claims of targeting Aamir Khan or other actors.
