X owner Elon Musk has announced a new feature for users of the social media platform. The company is making it easier to send tips to creators, and the new tipping feature will be released soon.
With the feature, users can send money to a creator by long-pressing the like button on any post. At first, users will be able to send only a $1 tip. The entire process will run through X Money. For now, the feature will be introduced for users in the United States.
Musk recently shared a post on X about the feature. According to him, users will soon get a new feature in which, after pressing the like button for a long time, an option to send $1 to the creator of the post will appear.
Using the feature involves four steps. First, the user has to go to a post they have liked on X. Then they have to long-press the like button shown below the post. After that, they will get the option to send $1 through X Money. As soon as the transaction is complete, the creator will receive the $1 tip.
The feature allows users to support creators financially without any separate process. However, no information has yet been shared on whether the tip amount can be changed, or whether any rules have to be followed to use it.
The company wants to turn X into an "everything app", and new features are being launched continuously for that reason.
The company has not yet announced when the feature will come to India. Nothing has been said about a rollout in other countries either. It is therefore expected that X users in India may have to wait some time to use it.
