Wardha Police hold anti-drug awareness programme at GS Commerce College
The Anti Narcotics Task Force, Wardha, held the session on 29 September 2026 under the "Drugs Free Wardha" campaign to urge students to stay away from narcotics.
The Wardha district police have taken the growing use of narcotic substances seriously. Police say young people in particular appear to be falling prey to this dangerous habit, which is harming their health, their families and society as a whole.
According to police, drug use not only damages a person's physical and mental health but also encourages a tendency towards crime. Under the "Drugs Free Wardha" campaign, the Anti Narcotics Task Force, Wardha, organised an anti-drug awareness programme at GS Commerce College, Wardha, on 29/09/2026.
The programme was based on the "Drugs Free Wardha" theme. Its aim was to show the way to a safe future and build a drug-free society. An NDPS awareness video prepared by the Wardha district police was screened, and a PPT presentation explained the harmful consequences of narcotics.
Police Inspector Vinod Chaudhari explained the ill effects of narcotic substances to those present and made them aware of the dangers. Madhuri Waghade, head of the Damini Pathak, also offered guidance in view of the safety of the college's female students. At the end, all present sang the national song together, and the programme concluded.
The students were given an important message through the programme: "Quit drugs, connect with life, build a cultured society, build a drug-free Wardha." Wardha Police appealed to all students to stay away from narcotics so that Wardha city can become advanced, safe and strong.
The awareness programme was organised under the guidance of Saurabh Kumar Agrawal, Superintendent of Police, Wardha, and Sadashiv Waghmare, Additional Superintendent of Police, Wardha.
Police Inspector Vinod Chaudhari of the local Crime Branch, Wardha, Assistant Police Inspector Madhuri Waghade and Sub-Inspector Sinukumar Banot were present. Police personnel of the Anti Narcotics Task Force, Wardha, the college principal and all the professors also attended. A large number of the college's students took part.
