Vivo V80 launched in India with 7,200mAh battery and ZEISS cameras, priced from Rs 62,999
Vivo has launched the V80 in India, with the company claiming big upgrades to the camera, display and battery of the premium-range phone.
Vivo has launched its new V-series smartphone, the Vivo V80, in India. The company says the camera, display and battery have all received major upgrades.
The phone will be available in three RAM and storage variants. The 8GB+128GB variant is priced at Rs 62,999, the 8GB+256GB variant at Rs 69,999 and the 8GB+512GB variant at Rs 79,999. It comes in three colours: Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue and Stellar Black.
Sales begin on October 13 on the Vivo India website, Amazon, Flipkart and offline stores. Pre-orders have already begun.
As a launch offer, the company will give 10 per cent cashback on select bank cards, along with a 10 per cent exchange bonus. The phone can also be bought on no-cost EMI.
The display is a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED with a resolution of 2750x1260 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. It can show 1.07 billion colours and has a local peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits. The bezels are 1.25mm thin.
For performance, the phone has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, a 4-nm octa-core chipset with a maximum clock speed of 2.8GHz. The graphics are handled by an Adreno 722 GPU. The phone has 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Vivo's Extended RAM feature allows additional virtual RAM, and storage can also be expanded with a microSD card.
The ZEISS camera system is the phone's highlight. There are three cameras at the back. The main camera is an f/1.88 50MP ZEISS OIS unit with a Sony LYTIA 700V sensor. The second is an f/2.65 50MP ZEISS night telephoto camera with a Sony IMX882 sensor, which supports 3x optical zoom with OIS and zoom up to 100x. The third is an f/2.2 8MP ZEISS ultra-wide-angle camera with a 115-degree field of view.
For selfies and video calls, there is an f/2.0 50MP ZEISS group selfie camera with autofocus and a 92-degree field of view. The phone supports 4K cinematic video as well as 4K 60fps video recording.
The phone has a 7,200mAh battery, the largest in the V-series so far. According to the company, it can run for up to 14 hours of continuous navigation and up to 39.5 hours of local video playback. Charging support is 90W FlashCharge.
On the software side, the phone runs OriginOS 7 based on Android 17. It is the first V-series smartphone to get OriginOS 7. It offers more than 30 AI-related creative tools, including Live Sticker Collage and AI Diwali Portrait 2.0.
The phone has a glass back and a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. It is rated IP68 and IP69. Connectivity includes 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, an IR blaster and Bluetooth 5.4, with dual SIM support. It also has stereo speakers.
