19 held in police raid on gambling den in Wadi, Nagpur
The Nagpur police commissioner's escort team raided a gambling den run by Mushtaq Ahmed in Wadi and detained 19 people, recovering goods worth Rs 60,000.
Nagpur: The escort team of Police Commissioner Vishwas Nangare Patil raided a well-known betting den run by Mushtaq Ahmed in Wadi and detained 19 accused.
Mushtaq runs the gambling den near the Maratha Savji Bhojanalaya in Wadi. On learning of it, the escort team raided the spot on the afternoon of October 3. Nineteen accused, including Mushtaq Ahmed, Gautam Dhoke, Vasant Gorewar and Satish Mehre, were detained and goods worth Rs 60,000 were recovered.
It is said that Mushtaq's den enjoyed police protection. A case has been registered against the accused under the Gambling Prevention Act.
