Ajni police in Nagpur reached the spot within just three minutes of a call to the police control room's 112 number, rescued a youth who was being attacked with a knife and arrested the accused. The incident took place in the Sant Kabir Nagar premises.

According to the information available, the police control room received a call at around 11.15 pm last night saying a man was being attacked with a knife in the Sant Kabir Nagar premises on Sant Kabir Marg. Beat marshals of Ajni police set out immediately and reached the spot in about three minutes.

Police rescued the complainant, Mukul Dhapode, safely. After taking down details of the incident, they began searching for the accused.

Mukul told police that Shahbaz Azim Khan, who lives in the same lane, allegedly demanded his mobile phone and cash at knifepoint. When Mukul resisted, the accused attacked him with the knife.

Mukul somehow escaped the knife blow. The seat cover of his vehicle was torn in the attack. After getting away, he immediately informed police of the entire incident.

Following the information, the beat marshals searched for the accused and arrested Shahbaz Azim Khan.

According to police, preventive action has been taken against the accused earlier as well. The accused is said to be a drug addict. Ajni police are investigating the case further.

Timely information on 112 and the swift action of Ajni police averted a potentially serious incident. Because police reached the spot in just three minutes, the youth could be rescued safely and the accused was also arrested quickly.
