350-500cc bike segment sales up 19.79% in August, Royal Enfield leads
The 350-500cc motorcycle segment sold 1,31,956 units in August, with Royal Enfield holding an 83.56% share
India's 350cc to 500cc motorcycle segment saw strong growth in August 2026, with 1,31,956 bikes sold during the month. In the same month last year, August 2025, the figure stood at 1,10,158 units, marking a 19.79% year-on-year increase in sales. Compared to July 2026, when 1,22,483 units were sold, sales also rose 7.73% month-on-month.
Royal Enfield continues to dominate the segment. The company sold 1,10,259 motorcycles in August, taking its segment share to 83.56%. The Royal Enfield Classic 350 was the best-selling bike, with 43,428 units sold, a 20.55% rise over last year. The Bullet 350 sold 27,533 units and the Hunter 350 sold 23,869 units. The Meteor 350 sold 10,669 units, the Himalayan sold 3,068 units and the Guerrilla sold 1,692 units.
Honda's CB350 also put in a strong performance, with 9,052 units sold in August, up 132.52% year-on-year. Honda has also begun dispatching its new CB500 to dealers, with 31 units recorded in August.
Among other manufacturers, Triumph's 350cc and 400cc models together sold 4,839 units. KTM's 350 and 390 models recorded combined sales of 3,066 units. The Bajaj Pulsar 350/400 sold 1,712 units and the Dominar 350/400 sold 1,353 units. The Harley-Davidson X440 sold 1,223 units. Aprilia's RS 457 and Tuono 457 recorded sales of 297 and 74 units respectively.
The figures point to a continuing shift among buyers towards higher-capacity motorcycles.
