Indian electric two-wheeler company Ultraviolette has raised 85 million dollars in its latest funding round. The largest contributions in the round came from Yali Capital's deep-tech fund and TDK Ventures. Walden International chairman and Intel executive Lip-Bu Tan also took part in the investment, and will now serve as an advisor to Ultraviolette.

The company said the funds will initially be used to scale up production of its existing F77 and X-47 models. It will also focus on ramping up production capacity for the upcoming Tesseract electric scooter and Shockwave enduro motorcycle. Ultraviolette has also planned a new plant with a large production capacity, which will help meet demand both within India and abroad.

Ultraviolette's next focus is not limited to selling motorcycles alone. The company is also developing new EV platforms for different types of vehicles. It has built its own capability in key technologies such as batteries, power electronics, vehicle architecture and software. The company said its battery technology covers architectures ranging from 48V to 400V.

Ultraviolette's F77 and X-47 models have already reached Indian customers. The X-47 also uses radar-based safety technology. Among the company's upcoming products, the Tesseract is being seen as particularly significant. According to the company, its production is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027, while the Shockwave model marks the company's entry into the electric enduro segment.

International expansion is also a major part of the company's plans. After expanding its presence in Europe, Ultraviolette plans to enter the US market in 2027. The company is also exploring opportunities in Latin America and Southeast Asia. The fresh investment will help the company gain momentum on production, technology and global expansion fronts.
