Two first-year students at Nagpur Government Dental College complain of ragging by interns

Two first-year students at the Government Dental College and Hospital in Nagpur have complained that a group of the college's interns is ragging and harassing them. The allegations are those of the complaining students.

The college administration received the complaint by email two days ago. After the complaint reached it, the college informed Ajni police.

According to the allegations in the complaint, some interns were pressuring first-year students to do as they were told. This includes stopping the students from leaving the college campus. The students also allege that the pressure was being applied in the name of making them focus on their studies.

After receiving the email, the college administration first identified the students concerned. The whole matter was then passed on to Ajni police.

The college dean, Dr Mangesh Phadnaik, has confirmed that the college received the complaint and that the police have been informed.

The complaint has drawn attention to allegations of ragging inside the college. Detailed information is awaited on how far the police inquiry has progressed and whether any action has been taken against those named in the complaint.
