A major accident occurred near the Gondkhairi toll plaza on Nagpur-Amravati Road on Thursday night. A truck rammed straight into a two-wheeler, killing the rider on the spot. The deceased, Sanjay, worked as a labourer at a company. According to police, the accident took place around 9.30 pm.

As soon as news of the accident came in, a team from the Badirajah Foundation rushed to the spot. The team first assessed the situation and then informed the police, who also arrived at the scene. The team also helped immediately in clearing the jam that had built up on the highway because of the accident. A large crowd gathered at the site, which briefly affected traffic. Police later helped move the vehicle involved and restored the road to normal.

The concerned police station has begun further action in the case, and an investigation is underway into the actual cause of the accident.

Meanwhile, with Nagpur police on high alert over Ganesh immersion, a 16-year-old boy was stabbed to death near Ginger Mall in the Jaripatka area. The boy who died was named Abid Shaikh. It is being said that a group of 14 to 15 boys attacked Abid. After the attack, Abid was admitted to Indira Gandhi Government Hospital in Nagpur, where doctors declared him dead. Police are searching for the accused and are also investigating the reason behind the attack. The incident has caused alarm in Nagpur city.

In another incident, a major fire broke out at Satyam Ford workshop near the Toyota showroom on Kalyan Road at 7:45 pm. The fire damaged five four-wheelers parked at the workshop, two of which were completely gutted. Station officer Sarnobat of Sheel fire station, two fire engines and one rescue vehicle, along with Diaghar police and Torrent Power staff, reached the spot immediately. After the fire brigade's efforts, the fire was fully brought under control by 9.02 pm. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
