Triumph's new classic motorcycle, the Bonneville 400, is nearly ready for its India launch. Spy shots of the bike have surfaced again ahead of launch, and this time it appears in near production-ready condition, leading to speculation that the company could announce the official launch soon. In India, the bike will go up directly against popular models such as the Royal Enfield Classic 350.

The Bonneville 400 will be the seventh motorcycle in Triumph's 400cc family. The company has already launched the Speed T4, Speed 400, Scrambler 400X, Scrambler 400 XC, Thruxton 400 and Tracker 400, and this new model joins the same lineup. A new chassis, swingarm and rear subframe have been developed for this bike. A flat bench-type seat gives its rear section a look different from the other 400cc models.

On design, the Bonneville 400 clearly draws on the larger 900cc and 1200cc Bonneville models. A large fuel tank, rounded side panels, thick fenders and wire-spoke wheels give it a distinct classic look. A peashooter exhaust, chrome finish on the engine crankcase covers and rear grab rails further enhance its retro appearance.

The bike gets a round LED headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank and lower handlebars. While the Speed 400 gets USD forks, the Bonneville 400 is expected to get telescopic front forks and twin-shock suspension at the rear. Disc brakes on both wheels with dual-channel ABS are also expected.

For India, the Bonneville 400 is likely to get a 349cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. This engine produces 36.5 bhp of power and 32 Nm of torque, offering a combination of classic looks with strong performance. Its rivalry will become clearer once the official launch date and price are announced.
