Police have acted against illegal sand theft in the Dahegaon Gosavi police station area. Around midnight on October 1, 2026, they set up a blockade and raided Derda Chowk in Hamdapur. The tractor's owner, Sameer Vilas Vaidya, was caught at the spot, while the tractor driver ran away. Both are accused.

Police Inspector Yashwant Kadam, the station house officer of Dahegaon Gosavi police station, was on patrol with his team in a private four-wheeler. The team was going around the area to act on cases of illegal sand theft. During this, the police personnel received word from an informer that Shyam Naitam and Sameer Vaidya, residents of Deulgaon Shivnagar village, would shortly be coming towards Hamdapur village with stolen black sand loaded in a red tractor and green trolley.

On this tip-off, police set up the blockade and raided Derda Chowk in Hamdapur. The accused tractor driver, Shyam Bhargujee Naitam, a resident of Deulgaon (Shivnagar), fled the spot. The tractor's owner, the accused Sameer Vilas Vaidya, 25, a resident of Deulgaon (Shivnagar), Selu tehsil, Wardha district, was found at the spot.

Police seized three items from his possession. The first is a red Massey Ferguson tractor, number HH 32 AX 3363, valued at Rs 5,00,000 (five lakh rupees). The second is a green Raj trolley, number MH 32/P/2410, valued at Rs 1,50,000 (one lakh fifty thousand rupees). The third is about 1 brass of black sand loaded in the trolley, valued at Rs 10,000. The total value of the goods has been put at Rs 6,60,000 (six lakh sixty thousand rupees). According to the seizure panchnama proceedings, all the goods have been seized.

Crime No. 0188/2026 has been registered on a written complaint from the government. It invokes Sections 303(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, along with Sections 3(1) and 181 of the Motor Vehicles Act. The case is under investigation.

The action was taken under the special guidance and information of Superintendent of Police Saurabhkumar Agrawal, Additional Superintendent of Police Sadashiv Waghmare and Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Wardha, Sunil Mahadik. Direct guidance came from Police Inspector Yashwant Kadam. Those who took part in the action were Assistant Sub-Inspector Brahmanand Mun, head constables Anand Bhasme and Radhakisan Ghuge, and police constables Kanchan Chaphle, Anil Chilgar and Sandesh Soyam. All are posted at Dahegaon Gosavi police station.
