The firing on actor Tiger Shroff's car in Mumbai's Juhu area has caused a stir in the film industry. Police are investigating the case, and investigating agencies are gathering information about the planning of the attack and the supply of weapons.
Meanwhile, the mother of Sumit, who has been arrested in the case, has claimed that her son is innocent. According to her, Sumit had gone to the Khatu Shyam temple and has been framed in the case.
Speaking to the media, Sumit's mother said that a few days ago Sumit had gone to the Khatu Shyam temple for darshan with his friend Nitin. She said he had also made a video call from there. She said her son has nothing to do with the firing and is being implicated in it. This is her own account.
According to Sumit's mother, police first told the family that there had been a quarrel in the area and that Sumit was being taken for questioning. She claimed that a Delhi Police team had come to the house but did not give complete information.
She further said that Sumit had been working in a clothes shop for the past three years. He studied up to Class 9. She also made it clear that Sumit's father and she herself work as labourers to run the household.
Asked about Nitin, Sumit's mother said he lives in their neighbourhood. She claimed that neither Sumit nor she knows anything about the case.
She also said that police have called the family to Mumbai. But she said she does not know the roads of Mumbai, so it is difficult to go there. She also claimed that the family had been asked to come to Mumbai to arrange bail for Sumit.
In the case of the firing on Tiger Shroff's car, a special team of Delhi Police has arrested Kunal (21) and Sumit (19), residents of Sonipat district in Haryana. The arrests of Radha (23) and Babita (23) of Uttar Pradesh have also been reported.
Sumit's mother said her son has no hand in the case and demanded his release from the government. According to her, Sumit has been misled. All eyes are now on what the investigation reveals and what police clarify about the role of the accused.
